Product first. Provenance always.
GroundUp Marketplace is a commercial extension of GroundUp Conservation’s work with grassroots organisations, Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities, conservation enterprises and living landscapes. We curate for quality and usefulness first, then make the enterprise, origin and evidence behind an object easier to examine.
Purpose deepens desirability. It never substitutes for it.
The five-part record
- The object: materials or ingredients, dimensions, use, care and delivery.
- The origin: where the object was made and, where known, where its primary inputs came from.
- The enterprise: the producer group, organisation and commercial model behind the product.
- The landscape: the living geography connected to production and conservation.
- The evidence: who reported a material claim, what it measures and when it was reviewed.
What we will not do
We do not use pity, saviour language, generic sustainability badges, invented impact counters or claims that cannot be traced to a source. Communities are represented as producers, knowledge holders, entrepreneurs and conservation leaders.
GroundUp’s wider work
The marketplace sits alongside GroundUp’s work in grassroots development, landscape management, conservation enterprise and ESG for Nature. Read about GroundUp’s services.
